Caroline is a leader in regenerative arts, design and development, building capability among communities, business, cultural organisations, government and iwi / hapū who see the potential to radically transform the way we work on our future together.
Caroline founded Cabal as a creative practice in 1990. Over time Cabal has evolved from origins as a multi award winning wearable arts and clothing label, to become highly regarded for arts/design collaborations within some of the most complex urban development projects in Auckland.
Caroline has been awarded numerous public art commissions. These projects all explore relationships of the local people and their place, bringing unique characteristics, complexities and potentials, to be understood and expressed.
Caroline was a founding core team member of ‘TBI’ The Big Idea, the online home of New Zealand’s creative community, which has successfully enabled the creative sector since 2003, with over 40,000 community members, and growing.
Creative, strategic and educational work in arts and culture, as well as several decades of training in the healing arts, opened the way for Caroline’s pioneering role in the emerging field of regenerative development, a whole living systems approach to development, business and innovation.
Through a highly collaborative approach and global partnerships, Caroline and Cabal are helping advance capability and capacity for a fast-growing field of regenerative practice in Aotearoa New Zealand. Cabal is currently supporting senior leaders within central and local government agencies, including Callaghan Innovation (NZ government’s innovation agency) and Auckland Council.
As an educator, Caroline is faculty with Regenesis Institute for Regenerative Practice. She has authored two books: “Panmure Sense of Place Scrapbook’ for Auckland Council and ‘The Artist’s Workbook’ for the Artist Alliance.
